One of my favorite things about living on an Army base, are the fun activities they do in the area for the children. We get big carnivals, tons of festivals and ,sometimes, popular characters, like Disney Princesses and Spiderman, come to visit. Today we got to attend a kid friendly version of Oktoberfest. They had balloon artist, face painters, inflatable jumpy things, and tons of crafts for the kids to do ALL FOR FREE! But the best part was, they gave each child a free pumpkin.
The kids had a lot of fun. We all did and it was nice for once to have my husband home, doing these fun fall festivities with us, but we still have one family member missing. Handsome is still not doing well enough to be out playing, so he stayed home with my mom. I stay hopeful that next year he will be more then healthy enough to come to Oktoberfest, but that he will be on those inflatable jumpy things jumping around, laughing.
