Learning How To Cook

The kitchen and I have never really gotten along. I can bake anything you ask me to, first time and it come out marvelous, but when it comes to the frying pan I just can't do it. I blame it on the fact that I'm a very picky eater and don't actually like half the stuff I'm trying to cook. If I had my way I'd eat shrimp and lobster every night for dinner and that's two thing that I DO know how to cook. But I don't expect my husband or my children to live off seafood, so I try to cook other things.

I've burned eggs, turned liver into pudding, destroyed a very expensive ham, under cooked eggs, turned my house into a blanket of smoke cooking bacon... I'm a disaster waiting to happen in a kitchen.

With that said, I do have THREE dishes (other then seafood) that I make that are out of this world. A chicken bake, a taco ring, and chicken quesadillas. But after six years my family is beginning to get tired of my three amazing dinners, so I am now on a mission to learn how to cook! I have ordered cookbooks, subscribed to online recipe sites and am watching my food network everyday. This time next year, I'm going to be an amazing cook! You have my word on that!
