Angry Birds!

Before joining the army, my husband was in the marine corps. There are many things we miss about the marines, but the thing we miss the most, is the people. In the marines, they weren't just his co workers or fellow spouses. They were our brothers and our sisters. I can't tell you how many times a marine went out of his way for my husband, or a wife went out of her way for me. It didn't matter if we had known each other for years or for a few weeks, we were there for each other. We were family.

As everyone pcs'd (military lingo for moved to another base) or ets'd (more lingo for "got out") we started losing touch. It was probably the hardest part of leaving the marines, losing touch with all those great marines and their families.

But that wasn't the case with the doc's wife. Crystal always found a way to track me down on myspace or facebook. She sends us Christmas cards every year. She is always checking up on us. Always commenting on my facebook photos and sending prayers for Handsome. I wish we could have spent more time together, while in the marines. I wish we had gotten to known each other better and more importantly, I wish we lived closer, now, so she could teach me how to crochet!
