Labor and Delivery: Take Five

When it comes to labor and delivery, my experiences could definitely give Shonda Rhimes some awesome writing material. Pre-eclampsia, pregnancy induced hypertension, hemorrhages, shoulder dysplasia, placenta abruption... And this last was just as eventful.

At 1:14am, April 11th, baby Jake was delivered after only 44 minutes of active labor! He came into this world so fast, that mommy didn't even get her epidural.

I had my first contraction at 8:13pm while watching Matilda and we got to the hospital at 10:30pm, where I was told I was in labor, but it was too early to be admitted, but two hours later, the contractions picked up and I went from 1cm to pushing in 44 minutes.

I lost a bit more blood then normal and Jake was in shock from how quickly he was delivered, so he needed a little jump start and had to spend a few hours in the nursery, but we are both fine... And yesterday, we got to come home!
