Thursday night, Handsome's seizure activity picked up significantly and with the seizures, he started to desat. After a prolonged seizure of twenty nine minutes, he was moved to the PICU for closer observation.
Oh, how I hate the PICU.
It's not that I dislike PICU staff, they are amazing and I LOVE that my son is being monitored so closely. But, I guess, the idea of being in intensive care bothers me. Until, I had a sick child, I always related the intensive care with such bad things. So being here, sometimes it's hard to stay positive. I hear monitors going off and nurses rushing to bedsides and I get a bit freaked out. It's one of those things that I don't think I will ever get used to.
There is one thing about the PICU, though, that I might be warming up to...
Yesterday, three local celebrities paid Handsome a visit.
That's right! The Nashville Predators came to see my son in the PICU and although, he was sedated at the time, the team autographed a poster and posed for this picture outside his room. I know someday when Handsome beats this disease he will be very fond of this moment. I can't wait for him to get home and show off his poster to his big brothers.
