About 2 years ago, I started sewing baby blankets and pillow case dresses, basic skirts. I was so in love with my sewing machine! I spent most of my nights playing with it, crafting up stuff. But I got bored making the same things over and over after a while and I retired my sewing machine. I was always too nervous to try anything "intermediate" or "advanced."
Well this past week, I started sewing again. I just really started missing crafting. I used to have some new project going around the house just about everyday and I really missed that! I got a couple yards of fabric from Hobby Lobby and made Heidi a couple skirts, applique shirt. I made Doc a security blanket, but I wanted to start trying something new! Somethings I've never made before, without getting to adventurous, so I made my big kids hooded towels today!
I made Heidi's first. I just love pink! I made a few mistakes on hers and my stitches weren't so straight. I had a hard time getting some of the spots through my sewing machine since it was thicker fabric then I'm use to. I started to get discouraged, but after LB and Skywalker saw it they wanted their own.
I did much better with LB's!
and Skywalker's turned out perfect! I'm so happy with his! And I had so much fun making these for them this afternoon. Now they are actually excited about bath time tonight!
I didn't really use a pattern. I had read a bunch of other blogs and tutorials on how to make them and I just took ideas from all those blogs and made mine the quickest/ easiest way I could based off what I read. I'd really like to have a new sewing project each week, try to perfect the craft, but we will see what happens.
