I would like you all to meet Kibou! Kibou is my very first amigurumi project since I started crocheting! This is why I haven't had as much time for blogging. I have been so busy working on him! He took me THREE WEEKS! (and I'm not 100% sure he's not going to fall apart at any giving moment!)
Kibou is an amineko kitty cat. I stumbled across the pattern months ago on Ravelry.com, but I was too scared to attempt amigurumi at the time. I thought it would be too tedious for someone like me, who likes instant gratification and the pattern looked complicated to a newbie like me. So I saved the pattern and promised myself I would revisit it when I had more confidence in my crocheting abilities.
I decided to finally start my amineko kitty cat shortly before Handsome was discharged from the hospital. I wanted to make something for a very special friend. I didn't think a scarf or a hat suited her. She needed something less typical, less ordinary. Amineko seemed perfect.
I chose to name Kibou, because amineko kitty cats are Japanese and Kibou is Japanese for Hope. Hope seemed to be the perfect name for my special friend's kitty, because hope is what she brought me each and every day of Handsome's hospital stay.
If you would like to make your own amineko click here for pattern. And don't forget to share your pictures with me!
