For Christmas this past year, a dear friend got me this ornament. She wanted to remind me that there things more important then a clean house. I have a bad habit of obsessing over a clean house and apologizing to company if one thing is out of place. I saw the ornament in my kitchen, hanging from my cabinet and became inspired!
I didn't feel like running to Hobby Lobby, so I checked my craft drawers for supplies.
I found 3 small pieces of wood and burlap... I am obsessed with burlap, right now.
I started with painting my wood tan and grey.
And while the wood dried, I played with my Silhouette program, typing up the quote to put on the wood.
I printed the quote on my Silhouette machine with red vinyl.
Using contact paper, I transferred the vinyl letters to my painted wood.
I cut a long strip of the burlap ribbon and using my glue gun I glued the back of the wood to the ribbon.
I tied a bow and then added a piece of twine to create a loop, so I could hang it.
And there it is!
Right now I have it hung on my pantry cabinet, but I plan on hanging it on a wall.
